solo. is located in San Pedro, an often forgotten part of the city of Los Angeles. San Pedro is home to an impressive group of artists, but the artist community could have more exposure. That is where solo. comes in.

solo. was founded in the fall of 2024 by Peter Scherrer. he had no intention of running a gallery, but a space that was just perfect for a gallery opened up, literally across the street, and he decided to grab it.

the idea behind solo. is simple and as the name says. Scherrer plans to stage solo shows by artists whose work he respects and who he “gets along with” as people. he looks to treat artists, as he as an artist would like to be treated by a gallery. To him, this means good work, mutual respect, well-staged shows, good promotion and support materials, and a fair commission structure. And yes, that means to take a chance once in a while.

solo. the physical space might just be the start of other activities to follow.

Artists are welcome to contact the gallery to check on show opportunities, but they must realize that there are only 5-6 opportunities a year, and they are usually booked far in advance.
